The Lone Star State has been headquarters for Fortune 500 companies like Whole Foods Market, Inc., Dell, Inc., AT&T as well as over 50 more. Since 1993 AT&T headquarters has called Texas home. The company’s revenue has grown from $10.7 billion in revenues to $130 billion in 2014 thanks to Texas lawmakers and regulators. They have taken steps to make it very appealing for businesses to move to the Lone Star State. The attractive tax structure makes the cost of doing business very competitive and it also encourages investment which helps to create jobs. Texas offers companies $19 billion per year in incentives which is the highest amount of any state. It is no wonder companies want to be here in Texas.

The investment in the Lone Star State’s infrastructure has also made it a place that is easily reached by any mode of transportation you choose. Texas has over 310,000 miles of road, more than any other state. People, products, goods, etc. can travel via the 26 commercial airports, nearly 630 miles of coastline with over 20 ports including the nation’s largest in Houston.

Texas is also attractive to the tech scene. Some are calling Austin the next Silicone Valley because of the technology growth that is happening in the area. Austin has been named one of the top places in the nation to launch a start-up. More than $1 billion was invested in Austin by tech companies in 2014 and this number is expected to continue climbing. Over 30 tech acquisitions have taken place in the past 3 years and more than 20 tech IPO’s are planned for 2015.

Besides making the Lone Star State appealing to a whole range of businesses it is also appealing for employees. People want to move to Texas because of the job opportunities, no income taxes, and the growing economy.
