Summer Camps for Kids in San Marcos

Numerous summer camps are available for kids who make their homes in San Marcos TX. Attending these camps will keep kids active and engaged in the world around them while they have fun and make new friends.

Here’s just a small sampling of the camps offered this summer in San Marcos:

City of San Marcos Discovery Camps

Weekly through August 9

Ages 5-10

Dunbar Recreation Center, San Marcos

Each weekly camp session includes opportunities to play outside, build things, do experiments and practice leadership skills. Campers will take field trips to the Rio Vista pool, Children’s Park Playscape, the San Marcos Discovery Center and one additional location.

YMCA Summer Theme and Adventure Camps

Ages 5-13

Weekly sessions through August 9

Dahlstrom Middle School, Buda and Negley Elementary, Kyle

Kids attending these themed camps will participate in arts and crafts, games, swimming and field trips to area attractions such as Austin Aquarium, McKinney Falls State Park and South Austin Rock Gym. Leadership, faith, self-discipline and teamwork will be encouraged.

Aquatic Science Adventure Camp

July 15-19 (ages 9-12), July 22-26 (ages 12-15) & July 29-August 2 (ages 9-12)

Texas State University, San Marcos

This longstanding summer camp introduces participants to aquatic sciences and includes an element of outdoor adventure in the form of river rafting, rope course navigation and scuba diving.

San Marcos Summer Fun Program

Weekdays July 15-August 9

Ages 7-14

Goodnight Middle School, San Marcos

This very affordable 8-week program includes activities, games, breakfast, lunch and a weekly field trip to places like the Rio Vista pool, Sunset Bowling Lanes and Starplex Movie Theater.

San Marcos Camp Quest

August 12-16

Ages 7-14

San Marcos Recreation Hall, San Marcos

Daily field trips are the focus of this camp that allows kids to explore San Marcos and nearby cities. Destinations include zoos, museums, parks and more. A sack lunch will be provided each day.
