Freescale Austin Technology & Manufacturing Center is Freescale’s 8-inch wafer manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas. The 120,000-square-foot factory specializes in advanced CMOS processes such as strained silicon and silicon-on-insulator. In production since 1995, Freescale Austin Technology & Manufacturing Center produces high-performance microprocessors and microcontrollers for the computing, networking and wireless markets. It has technology capabilities to the 90-nanometer technology node.

Intel Austin, primarily a design center where next-generation microprocessors are being developed, is also home to many innovations that are key elements in shaping the future of computing in the Internet economy. The Austin offices feature several volunteer programs that give employees unique and rewarding opportunities to get involved in the Austin community, including creek cleanups and participating in National Engineers Week. The office offers careers in the following areas: Integrated Circuit Engineering, Hardware Engineering and Software Engineering.
