ShadowGlen is Buffington Homes’ golf course community offering spacious homes in Manor TX (proper pronunciation is May-nor). Located just East of Austin, Texas, Shadow Glen is a beautiful master planned community that is close to Austin, Pflugerville and Round Rock and now with Toll 290, Austin is closer than ever.  Shadow Glen is a public golf course community with incredible amenities. The neighborhood boasts an incredible community swimming pool with waterslides, splashpads, beach area and plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy.  Shadow Glen Elementary is Manor ISD’s newest school and a short walk from our homes. The 18 Hole Shadow Glen golf Course showcases rolling hills and native terrain for the fairways.

    Originally established in the late 1880’s, the Manor community was a hub for the Central Texas cotton industry.     Cafe 290 first opened in the post World War II era here in Manor (May-NEr) Texas.

    When you dine at the cafe you are actually sitting in an army barracks used during World War II. This particular barracks was moved from camp swift outside of Bastrop to its current resting spot on East US highway 290, during President Eisenhauer’s post WWII highway construction initiatives. Cafe 290 was born!

    It has been a center of this community ever since, hosting movie stars, ambassadors, Presidents, and and of course farmers. Today, the tradition continues. At your Cafe 290, the spirit of Texas past lives on.

    Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park encompasses Walter E. Long Lake (formerly Dekker Lake).The lake is large and a popular fishing site. Kayaks can be rented; motor boats, mostly for fishing, are common.  Walter E. Long Reservoir contains excellent populations of largemouth bass and hybrid striped bass.  Largemouth bass in the 8-10 pound range are commonly caught, but the reservoir is primarily noted for producing good numbers of slot sized (14-21 inch) bass. Hybrid striped bass are stocked annually, and fish larger than 5 pounds are prevalent. Channel and flathead catfish are present in low numbers. This reservoir has a good population of bluegill and redbreast sunfish. Many of these sunfish are more than 8 inches in length.
