Other events during the festival include an opportunity to grill and skewer your very own dish with help from Texas’ own grillmaster Tim Love, serving as your mentor. The Fire Pit also gives attendees an opportunity to sample dishes by acclaimed chefs and ask about their favorite grilling techniques. There are many reasons why people decide to buy homes in Austin. The city consistently ranks as the best place to live in the U.S. based on cost of living, desirability, job market and quality of life. Another reason for Austin’s appeal is that there are so many fun things to do for residents and visitors, such as the Austin Food and Wine Festival.
Now in its 6th year, the Austin Food and Wine Festival has been called one of the best in the country, and takes place April 28-30, 2017 at the Auditorium Shores and Fair Market. The festival features top chef talent such as Hugh Acheson and Jonathan Waxman, sommeliers and winemakers from across the nation and Austin’s own acclaimed gourmet scene.
Festival goers can indulge in The Grand Taste Pavilion which features over 50 of the finest wines and spirits from across the nation, and more than 30 food artisans from Austin and beyond. Attendees can learn the latest cooking techniques from top chefs during dozens of cooking demos, wine and cocktail seminars.
You can also watch the country’s top chefs go head-to-head in a fierce taco competition. You’ll get to sample each inventive taco creation, paired with the perfect wine or cocktail, and enjoy live music at the same time. Plus, there is an opportunity to pick up copies of inspiring cookbooks and get them signed by your favorite chefs in the Autograph Tent.
Festival goers who purchase an All-in Ticket will get experience a new event on Friday evening. Attendees will be able to sample exotic dishes from Texas chefs who will present their interpretation of global night market cuisine. Music will be provided by DJ DM.
